The Southern District Explorers program is raising money for a summer trip to the 2014 National Law Enforcement Exploring Conference in Bloomington, Indiana. Through the Explorers program, youth are partnered with police officers who serve as mentors and teach them about good citizenship, community involvement, and leadership skills.
The Explorers are raising money for this trip as the cost to attend is $500 per Explorer (they will be taking eight Explorers and three adults.) They will also be paying for rental cars, fuel, food, lodging, uniforms and more. The Explorers are hoping to raise $7,000 total.
Donations can be made at www.bcsdexplorers.webs.com, or checks can be presented to:
Kevin “Butterbean” Vaught, who can be reached at 443-681-0920 or Kevin.Vaught@baltimorepolice.org
Donations need to be submitted by April 30, 2014.
If you are a resident of the South Baltimore Neighborhood Association (SBNA), let the Explorers know when making your donation. Mad River Bar & Grille will be making a $500 donation to the Explorers if SBNA residents raise $500.
